The 94th IEEE Region 8 Committee Meeting was held in Riga Latvia on the 7th to the 9th of May 2010. The meeting was attended by the whole Region 8 committee with some quests from IEEE Headquarters. Among others, IEEE President and IEEE President Elect, Pedro Ray and Moshe Kam respectively attended and addressed the meeting.

Our Region Director Jozef Modelski addressed the meeting going over the major events of the past months, giving a preview of the future events and thanking everybody for their hard work and dedication to IEEE. He especially thanked the Latvia Section for the excellent organization of the meeting and their warm hospitality in Riga.

One of the most important elements of the Riga meeting were the Sections Workshops which were held on Saturday afternoon, during which 6 groups discussed, best practices and most important problems of our Region 8 Sections as well as some IEEE challenges in the area of technical activities and others.
